The Last Supper is put back on display
After 21 years of restoration work, the famous Leonado de vinchi painting The Last Supper is put back on display. beginning in 1970 as by then the over 500 year old painting had begun to badly deteriorate, it took 21 years before for the painting was returned to its almost original look. It was put on back on display in Milan, Italy where it is still shown today. -
Woodstock 1999
held in Rome New York, and lasting from July 22 - 25 Woodstock 1999 was an event intended to emulate the original Woodstock event from 1994, While it wasn't as big as the original its still the second biggest music festival ever held. -

In December of 1999 Frank Darabont's movie adaptation of Steven king's The Green Mile is released in theaters. The movie included a cast of well known actors such as Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan. Its considered on of Tom Hank's best performances.
