    Battle of Britain
    Germany wanted control of Great Britain after the fall of France. They tried air raiding Britain but Britain had a good defense against them. It was three months long and an air battle. This battle demonstrated the power of the British army and it prevent Nazis from entering the country.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    This was a land battle where the Germans wanted to invade the Soviet Union so they went to Stalingrad. They trapped them in but the Soviets counterattacked and the Germans surrendered with 91,000 troops. This was the farthest extent of the German advance into the Soviet Union. It made the war in favor of the Allies.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    The bulge is the wedge that the Germans drove into the allied lines. The Germans tried to attack and while they were somewhat successful the Allies started to resist. The Germans withdrew but both sides face severe casualties. This was the last German offense on the Western Front
  • Russian troops discover Auschwitz

    Russian troops discover Auschwitz
    The Red Army was going deeper into Poland and eventually into Auschwitz where the concentration camps were. There SS officers started killing prisoners and destroying evidence of their crimes. The Russians freed the remaining prisoners.
