  • MLK Montgomery Bus Boycott

    MLK Montgomery Bus Boycott
    The Montgomery bus boycott started when Rosa parks wouldn't give up her seat in the colored section on a bus to a white man in Rosa was was arrested and fined. After this African Americans boycotted riding buses. The boycott was a protest against the policy of racial segregation on public transportation. This boycott lasted 381 days. (December 5, 1955- December 20,1956)

    The Cuban missile crisis was when there were soviet missiles and bombs in Cuba. This was a 13 day stand off. JFK ordered a navel bloackade around cuba and then the war ended when the soviet agreed to withdraw their missles from cuba and the US withdraw from turey. JFK died a year later. This agreement between the United States and North Vietnam said that the US would pull out all of its remaining troops from the country, in return for all of the Americans being held of prisoners of war to be released.

Before she was able to fire a shot secret service agents tackled her. He also had a second assassination attempt 17 days later by jane moore.

    This was when Jimmy carter allowed the shah to enter the united states for cancer treatment (October, 1979). This made the revolutionaries in Iran mad. So armed students seized the US embassy in tehran and held 52 americans hostage. They demanded that the shah be returned to Iran. Carter refused this demand and the hostages were held captive for 444 days. They were finally released January 20, 1981.

    Reagan & 3 others were shot while he was leaving a peaking engagement in washington. They were shot by John Hinckley. After firing the shots he was pinned down by secret service agents.
