The treaty of Versailles was signed to end WW1. It was an agreement that blamed Germany for the war and gave them hefty punishments. Germany received a restriction on their military to 100,000. They had a lot of their land taken away and given to other countries. The biggest one I think was they received a fine of 33 billion dollars which was a ton of money then. -
