Kansas/Nebraska Act
The Kansas/Nebraska Act created the territories of both Kansas and Nebraska. Opening new lands for settlement, and it also had the effect of revoking the Missouri Compromise(1820), which allowed the white settlers that were men in these territories to determine through popular sovergnty. -
Bleeding Kansas
In bleeding Kansas, both the Northeners and Southerners snuck into Kansas to vote, South for slavery and North for free, there was also a war and many were killed, they fought for slave or free. -
Sumner-Brooks incident
Sumner had made a speech, and said some cruel thing about a man named Butler, he argued against the expansion of slavery. Brooks, Butlers cousin heard the speech and beat Sumner with a can, this all lead to the war! -
John Brown's Raid
John Brown was a white abolistionist who attempted to start a raid with armed slaves, he started the raid in Harpers Ferry in Virginia, 20 men by his side. They were then defeated by American Marines
