The declaration of Independence states that the colonies should be free of the rule of great Britain. That they should be independent and able to form there own govornment. -
Articles of Confederation endorsed by the Continental Congress and submitted to the colonies for ratification
The colonies found the articals flawed but they need a form of central gov.. The articals would limit the power( rights) with in the states. -

The articles were finaly inforced. The people started to find some flaws in them though. -
Treaty of Paris is signed by Great Britain and the United States, ending the Revolutionary War, Senate ratifies in 1784
The treaty of Paris ended the war. It started a new begaining for all the colonies to be one independent state. -
Land Ordinance of 1785 passed by Congress provides for rectangular survey dividing northwest territories into township, which are in turn divided into lots of 640 acres cash, with one lot set aside for public education
To raise money though selling pieces of land, because that articals said that the gov. couldn't tax to make money. -
Ordinance of Religion Freedom adopted by Virgnia legislature written by Thomas Jefferson, this statute would late become the model for the first amendment to the Constitution.
Ordinance of Religion guaranteed freedom of religion to people of all religious faiths. What meant that it doesn't matter what religion you are you will not be picked out. -
Danial Shays leads a rebellion of 1,200 men in an attack against federal arsenal in Springfield, Massachusetts an important incident in influencing the creation of a new Constitution.
Danial Shay led a rebellion in NH that rose up first against Massachusetts' courts. They later went on to United States Federal Armory, but were not successful. -
Constitutional convention assembles in Philadelphia.
Constitutional convention was peaceful overthrow of the new American government. -
Constitution is endorsed by Congress and sent to state legislatures for ratification
Constitution may be altered in these terms. -

Northwest Ordinance
enacted by Congress provides for the eventual incorporation of three to five new states in the Northwest territories, with the establishment of a bicameral assembly, freedom of religion, the right to trial by jury, public education, and ban on slavery. -
The Constitution is in effect after receiving the approval of the requisite nine states
After all the nine states voted and they all wanted the Constitution it finaly went in to effect here. -

War and Treasury Departments are established by Congress. Henery Knox will be the Secretary of War; Alexander Hamilition will be the Secretary of the Treasury
