She was the fifteenth child of the Holy Roman Emperor Francis the first and the empress Maria Theresa. On December 13, 1759, the first music store opened in Philadelphia. The store was ran by an amateur violinist named Michael Hillegas. He ran his store for about twenty years. The store sold both locally made instruments and related goods as well as those imported from abroad. On May 10, 1774, Louis XV died of small pox. Louis-Auguste became Luis XVI the King of France, making Marie Antoinette the Queen of France. Her life became rewarding when she realized how much power she possessed. The First State To Abolish Slavery For Kids In America
Pennsylvanian was the first state to abolish slavery for children on March 3, 1780. They passed an act called the Act for the Gradual abolition of slavery. It specified that every African American and Mulatto child born within the state after passing of the act would be free upon reaching age twenty-eight. This event was important because it gave children the opportunity to start a life for themselves and it was also the kick start to more laws that would abolish slavery ("On this day"). -

Marie Antoinette built the Hameau de la Reine in 1783, but she started the process in 1780, because it took a total of three years to build. She had it built it away from the palace and the people of Versailles. Marie's first son Louis Joseph died at the age of seven from tuberculosis leaving Marie depressed, until she had her second son Louis Charles.Louis XVII was born in March 1785, in the palace of Versailles. Sadly Louis XVII died at the age of ten due to harsh conditions from when the royal family was imprisoned.Even though he died it was still significant because Marie produced the heir to Louis XVI. On August 1, 1785, Caroline Herschel was the first women to discover a comet. Herschel as a young girl always found astronomy interesting but when she became older her interest grew stronger. Louis XVI And His Big Decision
From August-September, in 1789, Louis XVI would have made a huge mistake. Although she failed to convince Louis to take refuge with his army at Metz, she persuaded him to resist the attempts of the Revolutionary National Assembly. She also convinced him to abolish Feudalism and restrict the royal prerogative. This is significant because it proved that Marie Antoinette was stronger and more decisive than her husband when it came to the decision making (The editors of Britannica encyclopedia). -
The Earthquake That Hit Calabria Italy.
On Febuary 4, 1790, a 7.5 to 8.0-magnatude quake that devasted the city of Calabria Italy. The quake whipped out 100 villages and killed 80,000 people. At midnight the quake caused a second tremor which prompted a Tsunami. These two disasters caused the starvation of many people in Calabria, this lead to the death of 1000 more. This event is significant because it caused many fractures in the earths surface, and in one case it created a mile-long ravine- nearly 100 feet wide ("On this day"). -
The Escape Plan
In 1789, Marie and her family became hostages of the Revolutionary movement. The year of 1791, Marie secretly requested help from the European rulers, including her royal siblings. On June 20, 1791, the family attempted to escape following Marie's plan. Sadly, they were caught in the town of Varennes which was about halfway to the border. This was significant because they were recaptured and sent to prison (Biography.com Editors). -
Marie Is Found Guilty
On January 1793, the radical republic convicted Louis XVI of treason and condemned him of death on January 21. On October 14, 1793, Queen Marie Antoinette was brought to the Revolutionary Tribunal. She was put on trial for treason, theft, as well as false charges of sexual abuse against her own son. After a long two day trial, Marie Antoinette was found guilty. Marie Antoinette's Death
On October 16, 1793, Marie was sent to be executed. She was killed from the Guillotine. The night before her execution she wrote a letter saying, " As people are whose conscience is clear". Then before her execution the priest told her to have courage. She believed that courage was not going to fail her during her death. This is significant because her story now lives on forever. Even though her life ended at thirty seven she ended up making big changes for the better in France (Biography.com).
