Started volunteering at my local clinic, Neighborhood Healthcare. I worked in the medical records department. It was paid volunteered worked. I did it after school; it was basically a job! I know the lady there appreciated the work I helped her with because SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE DOING IT. It gave me familiarity with the medical jargon.

Las Villas Del Norte was my first CNA job. From 2013-2017. It was a 30 bed SNF? Not bad, but still understaffed. I definitely earned my stripes there. I was in the trenches but it definitely gave me experience dealing with patients.

My sister had questionable friends. One afternoon, one of them shot the other friend in the leg, accidental? Not sure. but I was the only one rendering aid and it really solidified my want to pursue nursing. Being thrown into someone else's traumatic event was intense, but it felt great to be able to help. What a rush! I HAD TO TAKE A PIC OF THE SCENE.

Started my first hospital job at Rady Children's Hospital as a Patient Care Assistant in the NICU. Besides the desk work, which I was no fan of, I liked being able to help with the babies and learn form the nurses. A lot of sad cases but grateful for the time i was there.

Took me a long time because I did classes 1-2 at a time. I was the first one in my family to attend college, so I was navigating it alone. Eventually, I started doing more classes at a time and finally finished!

    Off to another hospital!
I had classes in the morning and night shift at Rady's was too hard on my sleep. I couldn't hang! I ended up getting a day shift position at Palomar Hospital in the Float pool department. I like it! Getting to see the different units and getting to know so many people throughout the years.
