The Battle of Britain
The battle of Britain started on June 10, 1940, when Germany decided to attack Britain with its air force. Although Germany did some damage, Britain defended its self until the U.S decided to join the war and help Britain fight Germany. -
Operation Barbarossa
Germany on June 22, 1941, broke the German-Soviet non-aggression pact by invading the Soviet Union. The reason they did this was because they wanted to break the military threat of Stalin's Soviet Union and obtain numerous oil fields. -
Operation Torch
Operation Torch is basically the allied powers pushing Germany out of Africa by 1943. After they pushed Germany out of Africa President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill met to discuss the next step of the war. After the meeting, Roosevelt announced that the Allies would accept nothing less than unconditional surrender. -
Operation Overlord
This was the largest amphibious invasion in history when Allied powers assaulted Normandy against the Germans. Eventually, invaders were able you take control of the beach and make a small port for small ships. During the attack the Germans where fooled by a fake army somewhere else and didn't have all their troops at the actual attack. -
The Yalta Conference
The Yalta Conference was held from February 4 to 11, 1945. The meeting was comprised of the heads of government of the U.S, the U.K, and the Soviet Union. This was held to discuss Europe's post-war reorganization. Also, the meeting was held in the Livadia Palace near Yalta in Crimea.
