The people of the Netherlands area wanted to not be a part of Spain. Spain did not like this new idea. -

Phillip IV was the ruler of Spain until 1621. He then gave up the throne to his son, Charles III. (the picture is of Phillip) -

After 1625, Prince Fredrick Henry of Orange was the new leader of the Union. He secured several victories. -
Franco-dutch
France allies with the Dutch. This was a very important, and key movement. -

The Franco-Dutch alliance proved to be very useful. They beat the Spanish Walloon and drove back the others(in an unknown year, i couldn't find it) -
Seperation
The Dutch gather all of their last resources. The Dutch prepare to execute their last attack. Spain finally recognizes Dutch independence. -
New place
The Dutch has already gained independence at this point. The United Provinces of the Netherlands is formed.
