The Battle of Dunkirk was fought between Germany (Nazis) and the Allies retreat with Britain and civilian help. This later boosted the morale of Britain since they were able to regroup and keep the war lasting. -

After Germany had defeated most of Europe they tried bombing Great Britain and its Royal Air Force. The British were able to defend themselves and defeat Germany by using their Air Force to take down German plans. -
Battle of Stalingrad
The Battle of stalingrad is known to be one of the longest and bloodiest battle in modern warfare with over 2 million casualties. THis battle turned into favor for the allies when the Russian winter set in to the Germans disadvantage. -
Normandy Invasion
This invasion was also known as D-Day or the largest amphibious invasion in history. The Allies of WWII (America, Britain, France, and Canada) invaded Normandy on the coast of France and was a turning point in the war where the Allies took France back. -
Battle of the Bulge
This battle was Germanyś last offensive in the war called Operation Mist or Ardennes Offensive and was also the largest battle the U.S. fought on land. The offensive was a surprise attack on the Allies to break off their supply line, but was unsuccessful since they exhausted most of their resources there and were pushed back. -
Yalta Conference
A meeting of The Big Three to decide what would happen to Europe and Germany after WWII. They agreed on dividing Germany into 4 and them paying reparations, Soviet help in Japan, free elections in Europe, hunting war criminals, joining the UN, and Polandś national unity. -
VE Day
Victory in Europe Day is when they celebrated the defeat of Germany. This was also the day that everyone recognized the end of WWII.
