Avon Career
Andrea started as a consultant at Avon. Before long, she became chairman and CEO of Avon in 1999. Andrea was successful by expanding marketing to other countries. -
Scandal Involving China
However, in 2008 due to a scandal involving allegations of bribing government officials in China, Avon paid $135 million in fines. Shortly after Andrea resigned as CEO. Andrea claims that she was unaware. -
Grameen America
Andrea became CEO of a nonprofit organization that helped with microloans and women starting small businesses. -
Ethical or Unethical?
I think that she is mostly ethical and does good work with Grameen America to help women entrepreneurs. However, she could have been involved with bribing government officials.
