The nickname Estee came from the original spelling of Esty but a teacher misspelt it, and it just so happen to stick. -

Estée Lauder was Founded
Estée Lauder and Joseph Lauder (her husband) founded Estée Lauder Inc. Estée handled the selling of all the products and Joseph handled the finances of the company. She debuts her first ever products which is a set of skin care products such as cleansing oil, all purpose creme, a creme pack and skin lotion. Later, Saks Fifth Avenue will buy $800 worth of her products. -
Her First Packaging
She started with four ground-breaking skin-care products–Super Rich All Purpose cCeam, Cleaning Oil, Creme Pack, and Skin Lotion. Her packaging started out with white bottles that had black labels. The labels fell off in the bathroom, so it wasn't that great. -

Her New Packaging
She changed her packaging to a color that complemented all women's bathrooms. It was a teal blue. She believed detail was very important in selling a product. -
Youth Dew
Her first fragrance, Youth Dew, catapulted her phenomenal success. This bath oil was poured into woman's baths and clung to her bdoy long after dressed and moving. After this creation, she became the cosmetics choice for women. -
Amazing Packaging
After the teal blue she added a metal to make the product appear more luxurious. All of the packaging was a teal blue with gold rims or some sort of gold on it. -
Aramis Launch
Aramis was the first men's fragrance to be sold in department stores. At first it wasn't a success so they stopped the production of it but later on in 1967 they relaunched it and it was succesful. -
Clinique launches
Clinique was the first "100% fragrance free" line of Lauder's. It was the first dermatologist tested. Her song, Leonard, came out with line saying how if someone wanted to go against Estée Lauder this is how they'd do it. -
Estée Lauder Passes Away
She died of cardiopulmonary arrest in her Manhattan Home.
