Great London Smog
a severe air-pollution event that affected the British capital of London in early December 1952. The Great London Smog that took place in 1952 triggered by both natural and anthropogenic causes, contributed to the establishment of the Clear Air Act to come into effect in The UK in 1956. The US’s Clean Air Act came into effect one decade after that. China signed the Kyoto Protocol in 1998 and made it effective in 2005. -

Millennial Development Goals
MDGs was established in 2005 at the UN Summit in NY. A document with three chapters was published: Freedom from Want (this was the chapter that had the 8 MDGs), Freedom from Fear, Freedom to Live in Dignity (based on the four freedom’s identified by former US President Franklin Roosevelt) -
