    Tenzin and Panang, brothers from Tibet, decided to escape Tibet and the communist Chinese regime. Their escape involved fleeing police checkpoints, traversing the "Death Pass" around Mt. Everest, and going their way on foot crossed the Tibet-Nepal border without enough food and warm clothes.

    Their journey was full of adventures and dangers. Most of their journey was on foot. Pasang was 18 and Tinzen was just 11 years old They suffer cruelty and hardness from border protectors and face severe circumstances on the mountain as well as a guide that leaves them near the deadline.

    Pasang and Tenzin along with other passengers moving ahead. Their entire foot was underwater. the guide allowed the group only the briefest of rests. they risked freezing to death whenever they stopped moving. it was called the death pass because nobody knew how many people have died up there. if they did not freeze to death, the Chinese border guards will target them.

    Eventually, they crossed the border. It was a fateful step. the little boy could see the sign of what they were leaving behind, their country, their home, Tibet. there was only a continuous line of white peaks under the blue sky, but they knew that crossing the border was a fateful step, their lives would never be the same again.
  • What Happened Next?

    What Happened Next?
    After the two brothers, arrived in India, joined in the monastery to become monks. A few months later they received a letter from England. It told of a film which broadcasted on British TV which showed them on the snow mountains. Then, the brothers got a lecturer from King's College London offered them free tuition at their English Language School for two years. Pasang and Tenzin went to London, and after two years, they were granted the legal right to remain in England.

    Pasang and Tenzin are living in London and they are able to send money to their family. They could travel to their homeland several times and support the family in the best way.
