Kinesthetic Sensation to Mach Number to Relativity
Ernst Mach started studying various sensations and eventually led to the measurement of sound waves and propagation. These studies led to the Mach number in 1887. Which allowed for a more advanced knowledge that scientific evidence could only be experienced in sensations or observations. Which led Mach to not believe in things such as the concepts of absolute time and space. This led to Einstein's discovery of relativity theory. -

Died on February 19th, 1916, just a day after turning 78. -
Summary
Ernst Mach helped lead the way to one of the greatest discoveries of our life time with Albert Einsteins Theory of Relativity but he also discovered the value of sound waves which is why we today call the speed of planes Mach 1 and so on. Ernst Mach believed that knowledge was brought from sensation meaning that science could only be viewed from sensations. He also studied the Machs Bands which showed the darker and lighter shades upon boundaries. We see he led us to some excellent discoveries. -
