Shockwave
Published theoretical and experimental confirmation of a shockwave. With physicist-photographer, Peter Salcher, showed the shockwave produced by a projectile in the surrounding fluid.
The ratio of the speed of a projectile to the speed of sound now carries his name-sake as the Mach Number. -
