Young Ernest and Education
Born in Nové Město, Bohemia on the 16th of November, 1901. Earnest during 1911 moved to the US and went off to start college around the year of 1923. He earned his Bachelors and went on to earn his PhD from another college where he focused on the concept of measurement.

This was written with Morris R. Cohen shortly after receiving after his PhD. Cohen was a mentor of his and this must have been a large accomplishment of his. Principles of the Theory of Probability
This work simply focused on probability and was considered a well known classic. Here is a great lengthy video of Nagel discussing the Cognitive status of Theories.

Later Years and Death(1950's-1983)
Ernest continued teaching and progressing as a philosopher contributing by adding many works such as Logic with out Metaphysics, The Structure of Science: Problems in the Logic of Scientific Explanation part 1 and 2, and Observation and Theory in Science . At the Columbia University he achieved the title of Professor Emeritus, this meaning he has retired and was very respected. Nagel eventually passed in 1985 of pneumonia and left behind a career and 2 sons who both went on to be professors.
