BEFORE THE THEORY
Before Darwin’s theory, the common solution as to why there were fossils discovered or how the world came to be was based mainly on the creative action of the Christian God such as Paley’s theory. Paley had a static universe where the Christian god created the universe and species did not evolve (Francis 47). -

GALAPAGOS ISLAND VISIT
Charles Darwin sets out to explore the Galapagos Island for five weeks and discovers so many new geological traits on the islands as well as different and new species. This opens his world up showing that evolution is actually a thing and species evolve based on a principle of Natural Selection. -
THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES
Darwin, at first, does isn’t convinced about the evolution process but still jumps at the chance to publish his theory of evolution in a book called, The Origin of Species. This theory says that organisms evolve based on the environment they live in and whatever offspring survives with the right trait will continue its cycle, and if with the wrong trait, will die off (Mills 59). -

THE LESSONS
Even though his theory impacted so many and showed that maybe the religious belief isn’t quite right, there are organizations or religious governments not teaching his theory. Heated trials also surfaced when people would try to incorporate the theory instead of just religion. Darwin’s theory changed the way people thought of the origin of life and biology. It also helped breeders better understand their field and how to create better or more useful species (Mills 144). -
