Ernest quit writing for the school paper and tryed to join the army and was deployed that year. -
Driver down!
Hemingway was wonded in battle while trying to deliver things to the soldiers on the front lines. Killed by a mortar and machine guns. The blast leaves shell fragments in his legs. Hemingway falls in love with an American nurse six years his senior named Agnes von Kurowsky. -
Affair is over and Im comin home
Hemingway comes home and recieves a letter from Agnes saying she fell in love with an Italian officer and that the affair was over. This "breakup" inspired the book "farewell to arms." "All thinking men are atheists."

Life and Death
Pauline and Hemingway move to Key West. Ernest lived there on and off through the 50's. Hemingway and Paulines first child was born June 28th, 1928. Hemingways father commited suicide on December 6th, 1928 -

Hemingway divorces Pauline.Less than three weeks later, he marries the journalist Martha Gellhorn. Couple settles in Finca Vigia, the Cuban estate where Hemingway will live, off and on, for twenty years. -

Martha urges Hemingway to go to europe and be a war correspondent. She was also one and the tension split them up. Dec. 21st,1945 they divorced. -

Hemingway marrys another was correspondent names Mary Welsh. August 19th she miscarries and they find out they can never have children ever. -
Suicide...not the answer
suffering from many things including alcoholism, and depression he shot himself with a shotgun in his home in Ketchum, Idaho.
