Birth of little Ernest
Ernest was born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois an Eight oclock in the morning. -
Early childhood
Like many other young boys of the time Ernest was dressed like a girl when out in public. When he and the family went camping to did other outdoor activities was was alowed to dress like a boy. -
High school
From 1913 until 1917, Hemingway attended Oak Park and River Forest High School where he took part in a number of sports, boxing, track and field, water polo, and football. himingway also excelled in English -
WW1
Early in 1918 Hemingway responded to a Red Cross recruitment and signed on to be an ambulance driver in Italy. -
War time
In 1918, he was seriously wounded and returned home. His wartime experiences formed the basis for his novel A Farewell to Arms. -
First marrage
In 1922, he married Hadley Richardson, the first of his four wives. The couple then moved to Paris.

Spain
While in Spain in 1923 Himingway became facinated with bullfighting. -
First novel
In 1926 Himingway published his first novel The Sun Also Rises
“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” -
1930's
During the early 1930s Hemingway spent his winters in Key West and summers in Wyoming, where he found "the most beautiful country he had seen in the American West" and hunting that included Grizzly bear, deer and elk.

D-Day
From June to December 1944 Hemingway was in Europe.
During D-Day Ernest was kept on a landing craft because the military officials cosidered him to be "precious cargo". -
Plane Crash
In 1954, while in Africa, Hemingway was almost fatally injured in two successive plane crashes.On his way to photograph Murchison Falls from the air, the plane struck an abandoned utility pole and crash landed in heavy brush. -
Death
After strugling with depreshion and alcholism for years Ernest Himingway comited suiced on July 2, 1961
