    Trust-Mistrust
    Ginny and Seth have a baby and name it Paul. Since Ginny and Seth both have high paying jobs, Ginny decides to leave her job and be a stay at home mom throughout Paul's childhood. During infancy, Paul develops a strong bond with his mother. In Erikson's first stage, Trust vs. Mistrust the crisis is for the child to establish a trusting, loving relationship with his caregiver.
  • Industry vs. inferiorty

    Industry vs. inferiorty
    Now in the 4th Grade, Paul consistently ranks in the top of his class with grades, is well-liked by his peers at school, and lives a happy childhood. In Eriksons fifth stage, industry vs. inferiority, children learn to work effectively according to their cultures norms. If adults are too critical, they may develop a sense of inferiority, becoming incapable of working effectively.
  • Generativity vs. Stagnation

    Generativity vs. Stagnation
    Paul, wanting to give back to his community, decides to coach the middle school cross country team. Thus combining his life-long passion of distance running, while also aiding the next generation. In Erikson's 7th stage, the central crisis characterized by two choices. First, the motivation to help out with the development and well-being of generations to come. Second, to focus on their own interests, without thinking of others.
