Grace being breastfed by her mother
The moment Grace was born, Grace mother (Quin) made the decision to breastfeed until Grace hit the age of one. With the constant bonding during breastfeeding time, Grace( 12 months) got into a habit of snuggling around Quin's chest. A sign of wanting breastmilk from Quin. In Erikson's first stage of trust versus mistrust, the crisis is between infant forming that loving and trusting relationship with her caregiver or develop a sense of mistrust. -
Grace potty train
When Grace (18 months) notice that she is about to pee, she will run to her mother and make the sound "Shh- Shh", as in telling the mother it's time to pee.She then will take off the diaper and grab her potty seat. In Erikson stage second stage of autonomy versus shame/ doubt, the crisis is between child's energy directed towards the development of physical skills, including walking, grasping, and controlling sphincter. -
Independence: Grace not wanting to be fed by others
Grace at the age of two wants to eat family style with the rest of the family members. She would not eat anything from anyone's spoon because she wants to use her own silverware to reach the food everyone is eating. In Erikson's third stage of initiative versus guilt. The child learns control but may develop shame and doubt if not handle well.
