Fern Jameson is born
On November 7th 2016 Fern Jameson is born to Mark and Holly Jameson. Throughout the first year of her life, Fern will be utterly dependent on her mother and father and creating a familial bond between them. This first year of her life shows Erikson's first stage trust versus mistrust. In this stage the child is completely dependent upon her mother and father, and depending on how well they respond and meet her needs results in her trust or mistrust of them. -

Fern becomes toilet trained
Today marks the first week that Fern has been going to the bathroom on the grown up toilet! As Fern gets older she keeps getting stronger in her will to do things on her own. demonstrating Erikson's second stage, autonomy versus shame and doubt, the crises is between a young child gaining confidence in what he/she can do, and doubting or feeling shame in their inability to perform actions that people around them do. -
Preschool building
Today while Fern was at preschool she began to construct a house out of jumbo legos, while she was doing so other kids joined in. Her decision to begin to construct something without direction shows initiative versus guilt. The crisis of this stage is a child gaining confidence in her abilities, and being able to lead others rather than feeling guilty of their abilities. -
Fern gets straight A's
Fern is 8, and this is the first year of her schooling that she has gotten straight A's. Many of Fern's friends have accomplished this and she has been trying so hard to get there, and we are all so proud of her effort, even her! This stage of Fern's life is Eriksons fourth stage industry versus inferiority. The crisis of this stage is that the child is beginning to develop self confidence or self doubt, and the praise that he or she gets from others will tip that scale in either direction. -
Graduation
Can't believe how fast time has gone by, Fern is 18 and graduated, intending to go to Harvard at the start of the fall, pursuing a career as a orthopedic surgeon. Fern is at the end of Erikson's identity versus confusion stage, Fern is strong in her identity and ready to take on the world. -
Fern gets Married
Today Fern Jameson became Fern Garcia with her marriage to George Garcia, they decided to join to create a family. Fern's marriage demonstrates Erikson's intimacy versus isolation. The crisis in this stage in the the connecting with another person, opening up and being committed to them.
