Trust vs Mistrust
Bob experiences the first stage of Erikson's stages of development known as Trust vs Mistrust. Bob relies on his mother to feed him when he cries when hungry. Trust is gained when his mother feeds him in response to crying vs not being fed in response to crying can lead to a sense of mistrust between Bob and his mother.
