Erikson Timeline

  • Trust vs Mistrust - The beginning

Kathryn was born into a family who cared for her needs as an infant. She was always responded to, given love and taken care of in a way that built trust between her and the world she lived in. The crisis would be beginning life in an open and unafraid manner, vs being distrustful of everyone and everthing since that is all that someone was shown.
  • Industry vs Inferiority -How to build a personality

During childhood, Kathryn moved to Europe. She was exposed to living in a culture vastly different that the one she had grown in, and was presented with the crisis of adapting and being able to learn and thrive in a new culture to fit in or staying with the older stigmas she used to know and being an outcast.
  • Identity vs Identity Confusion- Graduation!

In adolescence, Kathryn was expected to fit a role that she had seen modeled her entire life.
She had to choose when graduating whether to go to college or start a non traditional job. She had to determine if she fit that mold or if she was someone else entirely, and the crisis that presents itself would be to be fully accepting and knowing of who you are at a young age vs finding out who you are might not fit the social mold that is expected or even necessarily wanted in the situation.
