    During adolescence, the main developmental challenge is to develop a secure and coherent identity. Trevor did this by trying out different sports, friend groups, and spiritual beliefs. This is a time when Trevor transitioned from going to a Christian youth group to experimenting with alternate belief systems and ultimately settling on one, A Course in Miracles.

    In early adulthood, the main developmental challenge is to establish a long-lasting committed relationship. Trevor did this by meeting his then-girlfriend and getting married to her less than a year later. This date marks the day they got married.

    During middle adulthood, the main developmental challenge is to learn how to care for others and make some sort of contribution. Trevor did this by quitting his sales job where he felt unfulfilled and returning to college to focus on Psychology so he could help others. This date is around the time he made the decision.
