Trust vs Mistrust
Isabella Rose Hilligas is 16 months under the care of her mother and father. Throughout time she has put her needs on her parents thus being diaper changes, food, sleep, warmth and safety. Her parents have successfully been able to give their daughter all these needs gaining her trust as a baby so later on she can remain trustworthy of them. This stage in Erikson's theory is known to be the first one where a baby is putting trust usually in their parents in order to achieve their needs. -
Initiative vs Guilt
Isabella now at age 6 is in kindergarten and learning new things everyday. Because of Erikson's third stage in his theory, Isabella is now wanting to do things on her own like choosing out her outfits or making her own cereal but still requiring the help of her parents to pour the milk or even comb and style her hair. -
Ego Integrity vs Despair
Now that Isabella is 63, having lived a good life full of love and laughter she feels content with what she has done. d At age 63 she sits back and reflects on her life from having career in nursing being able to bring care to those in need, finding love, having her kids then to being able to see her grandkids and experience these joys makes her believe she has a made a impact in society. Erikson's last stage is known for its fulfillment in peoples life after hitting the age of 60.
