    Initiative vs Guilt
December 20th, 2004 Tyko a winter fanatic is learning how to ski with the help of his great parents but keeps crashing into trees. Tyko is not disheartened by the pain and does not feel guilty about making mistakes and is motivated to try again and aim to avoid the trees. This is the initiative versus guilt phase. In this phase it is important that the child develops a sense of initiative rather than feeling guilty for their mistakes. The initiative will allow them to try new things.
