    Krista Learns The Violin
Krista takes violin lessons and pretty quickly realizes that she has a natural talent for it. This leads to her discovering an overall passion for music and performance. She also feels as if she has found her calling and place in the world. In Erikson's Adolescence stage, the crisis is between identity vs. identity confusion. Those who develop self awareness, and come to understand what they can do and what they stand for, successfully find their identity. Otherwise, identity confusion results.
  • Krista Gets Married

    Krista Gets Married
Krista marries the man she loves and her best friend. Her relationship with him has allowed her to grow in ways she didn't think possible. She is excited to be in this relationship for the rest of her life. In Erikson's Early Adulthood stage, the crisis is intimacy vs. isolation. When someone is willing to risk the challenge of being connected and vulnerable with another person, they succeed in achieving intimacy as opposed to being isolated and unwilling to share themselves with another person.
  • Krista Adopts A Child

    Krista Adopts A Child
While working as a nurse in the NICU, Krista cares for at risk infants that were born addicted to substances taken by their mothers. Krista decides to adopt Emily, one of the babies on the ward that was abandoned, to raise together with her husband. In Erikson's Middle Adulthood stage, the crisis is generativity vs. stagnation. When a person works to care for others and provide for the well being of future generations, they successfully avoid stagnating and only meeting their own needs.
