Erikson Timeline

  • infancy

    Rachel was a just born at a hospital, with parents who where lower class. They struggled to keep up with the needs of Rachel, since they both had to work to keep up the living expense. When Rachel would cry, she was often not picked up or feed. Rachel had a babysitter. The babysitter was a young teenager who didn't know how to comfort her. In Erikson's stage Infancy the basic need of Trust vs. Mistrust. Rachel will struggle to trust her caregivers to meet her needs.
  • Adolescence

    Rachel is now 18, she and her group of friends hang out every week. Even though she is in the group of friends she has a good sense of her personality. When they are not hanging out she does hobbies like reading, writing, and jogging. Rachel has friends outside of her friend group. In Erikson's Identity vs. Role Confusion Rachel is in the Identity role. She has a strong identity of herself not questioning herself worth or personality.
  • Young Adult

    Rachel is married at 35 she and her husband have been together for seven years. They are very close not having problems with communicating while balancing their intimate life. Rachel feels like her needs are getting meet while having the ability to meet his needs. They are talking about having kids. Both of them have friends and are close with each others family. In Erikson's stage of Intimacy vs. Isolation Rachel is secure in her relationship she does not feel lonely.
