Cinderella Timeline

  • Erickson's Fourth Stage: Industry vs Inferiority

Erickson's Fourth Stage: Industry vs Inferiority
Cinderella(age 5-12) was raised by her father who was kind and loved her very much, unlike her stepmother who envied her. In this stage we see how important it is for a child to receive positive feedback and recognition in order to gain confidence. Cinderella went from receiving love and assurance from her father to not getting any at all. All she got was negative feedback from her step family and nothing else which could've made her become inferior and lose motivation.
  • Erickson's Fifth Stage: Identity vs Role

Erickson's Fifth Stage: Identity vs Role
Cinderella(age 12-18) grew up with two step sisters. Her step sisters were the same age as her, and instead of being friends and getting along, they treated her as a servant and didn’t care for her. Since her father had passed she had no one looking out for her and didn't understand why she was treated so unfairly. During this stage it's easy to believe what other's think of you to be true, so she believed that's all she was good for and that she was truly just a servant.
  • Erickson's Sixth Stage:(Intimacy vs Isolation)

    Erickson's Sixth Stage:(Intimacy vs Isolation)
Cinderella(age 19) went to the ball that her stepmother and step sisters were going to. There she met the prince and instantly felt a connection. After hours of getting to know each other she realized the time and had to get home before her step mother did or else she’d be in great trouble. At the end of the story Cinderella chooses her own happiness and stands up to her evil stepmother in order to be with the person she loves.
