Erikson Theory for Mayas life

  • Trust vs. Mistrust

    Trust vs. Mistrust
Maya was born and was an only child. When Maya had a need to be met it was met. When Maya learned to walk she was fearful but had the trust in her mom and dad to push through and start walking at the age of 10 months.
Maya gained more trust than mistrust because she never had a need to feel like someone wasn't there to guide her. She knew that if she needed anything her parents would provide in any way with love and affection.
  • Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt

    Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt
Maya and her family often went out fishing and exploring. Where she often had one baby doll tagging along everywhere.
Maya has a love for all kinds of food. Her mother would often find her climbing on the counter to take spoonfuls of peanut butter.
Maya knew she was able to choose a toy to go out and about and she could pick her healthy snack of choice. This gave her confidence and never left her feeling inadequate.
  • Industry vs. Inferiority

    Industry vs. Inferiority
At the age of six Maya began to wrestle in Kodiak, Alaska. Wrestling is an individual sport so the way for her to win was to be self aware, and self driven. She learned very quickly and became very good at wrestling. This gave her the self-confidence that if she wanted to achieve something she knew she could work for it.
