Trust vs. Mistrust
When Ashlynn was a baby, her mother would hold her every time she cried. This created a positive trust in Ashlynn. -
Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt
When Ashlynn was three years old, her mother would let her do things for herself to allow her to feel as if she is able to do things on her own. She was able to bring water to the table with little help, and was given a stool so she could wash her hands all by herself. This created autonomy in Ashlynn. -
Identity vs. Identity Confusion
Ashlynn is trying to find out what she wants to do in her life. She is trying to figure out what her placement in the world is. She does not know what she wants to do but she does have a big heart and wants to spread that throughout her family. Erikson's stage Identity vs. Identity Confusion is where adolescents must have an awareness of who they are, if they are unable to do so, then they will result in identity confusion. -

Intimacy vs. Isolation
Ashlynn married Chris at a young age. They began to trust each other and make themselves vulnerable by starting a new stage in their life together. They experienced intimacy instead of isolation. In Erikson's stage Intimacy vs. Isolation, if a person is unable to make themselves vulnerable, then they will result in isolation.
