    Stacey becomes a mom: Identity versus Role Confusion
    Stacey (age 18) has become a teen parent with the birth of her son. This is Erickson's fifth stage of Identity versus Role Confusion. The crisis for Stacy is she has not reached adulthood and she is at an age where she is still figuring out her identity. Becoming a parent so early has caused a confused sense of self.
  • Stacey becomes a wife: Intimacy versus Isolation

    Stacey becomes a wife: Intimacy versus Isolation
    Stacey (age 28) meets the man of her dreams. The two of them are a perfect fit and share many of the same hobbies. The delighted couple decide to make it official with a summer wedding. Stacey has found love. This is Erickson's sixth stage, Intimacy versus Isolation. The crisis is maintaining a happy relationship balance once the honeymoon phase has faded.

    Stacey has an empty nest: Generatively versus Stagnation
    Stacey (age 36) her only child is moving out and enrolling in college. Stacey is proud of her son and has played an active role with choosing a college with him. This is Erickson's seventh stage, Generatively versus Stagnation. For Stacey the crisis is leaving an impact with her child that that will carry him through his next phase of life. Stacey has satisfaction that she was able to help her son succeed and become independent.
