This proclamation also threatened legal proceedings against any American that was providing assistance to any country at war. -

The Treaty of Ghent was a peace treaty which ended the War of 1812 between Great Britain and the United States. -

The Battle of New Orleans was the final battle of the War of 1812. This war happened because American forces were trying to successfully repel the invading British Army. The Americans did succeed.
