    Surrounding the government shutdown, Obama and the Democratic Party refused to negotiate a compromise regarding a clean increase on the debt limit. Obama wanted Congress to raise the debt limit. Obama did say he wanted to negotiate on other topics and was open to compromise, but he and the party did not budge for the debt limit.

    U.S. Trade Deficit Surges
    During the past five months, United States’ trade deficits has risen. In August of 2015, the trade deficit has risen to 15.6 due to the issues with United States’ trade relationship with China. Their relationship was worsened due to increase of imports that has weakened the economy which has resulted from the lack of demand from consumers for both of the countries’ products.

    During Obama’s presidency, the budget deficits have went down during all throughout it. It is actually $16 billion lower than $616 billion which was estimated by many people in an administration. It states that deficits have fallen by nearly three quarters.
