  • Thomas Hobbs

    "people gave up their rights to a strong ruler. In exchange,
    they gained law and order. Hobbes called this agree-
    meant, by which people created government, the social
    contract." (blach beck) so Hobbs opinion on the government is that people need a monarch or a leaderwith complete control. there is also a contract with a safety net the contract says that the people can fix the government accordingly
  • John Locke

    philosopher John Locke held a different, more posi-
    tive, view of human nature. He believed that people could learn from experience and improve themselves. As reasonable beings, they had the natural ability to govern their own affairs and to look after the welfare of society.
