    Prose at this time was characterized by containing religious texts, medical and translation legal. Most Old English poets are anonymous. There are four representatives we can name: Caedmon, Bede, Alfred, and Cynewulf.

    there was comedy, drama and skepticism. It was represented by authors such as Nicoló Machiavelli (1469-1527), Martín Lutero (1483-1546), Miguel de Cervantes (1547 – 1616), William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616) and Teresa de Ávila (1515–1582).

    Is characterized by order, accuracy, and structure (control). Inspired from The Classical Art and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. DOminance of Materialism and Empirical Science. Restoration of Drama. This period was represented by Alexander (1688- 1744), Jean de la Fontaine (1621 - 1695).

Glorification of nature, awareness and Acceptance of emotions, celebration of artistic creativity and imagination. Poems, verse, lyrics. Representative authors: Alexandre Dumas (1802 - 1870) and Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834).

    Individualism, Experimentation, Symbolism, Adsurdity and Formalism and Relativism. Use of symbolism to represent things for which pessimism is suffered. I consider that since the beginning of the twentieth century restlessness and hopelessness reign due to so many conflicts that have maintained these feelings, which has been marked in the literature; Therefore, we are still in the Modern Period. Know as "The Lost Generation".
