In 1908, the first mass production car rolled out of Henry's Ford factories. This allowed the everyday man to own a car, enabling him to travel further distances, and consequently tourism was easier to be performed. -

People had more holidays and disposable income, the television and internet were now a reality and travelling became accesible to all. -

In 1948, with the introduction of the DeHavilland Commet, the first jet airliner was born. These allowed for a greater capacity and longer flights than ever before, and started to shape the future of air travel. -
European Union
In 1993, with the treaty of Maastricht, the European Union was formed. In the perspective of tourism, this enabled european citizens to travel with much less effort (schengen space).
