A large fire broke out in London in the house of a baker near London Bridge. It destroyed more than 13.000 buildings but only 6 people are known to have died, whilst at least 80.000 were left destitute and homeless. -
SUFFRAGETTES
The suffragettes were a group of women who did demonstrations because they wanted the political right to vote. Women over 30 got the right to vote in 1918, and in 1928 suffrage was extended to all women over the age of 21. They had lots of problems, such as beeing arrested, girls and boys were always separated, etc. Finnaly, they can vote. -
