Monsters and masters of destruction behind WWII
Within this timeline I am going to show how during World War II, there were multiple "monsters" and things that embedded these people and things into what we know today. The horrors left behind from this Great World War has had lasting effects still to this day. Throughout this entire timeline I will show pictures, significant figures, and some maybe graphic images of what this war brought about everyone within our world.

Adolf Hitler Comes to Power
Adolf Hitler, born April 20, 1889 - April 30, 1945 was appointed chancellor of Germany in 1933 following a series of electoral victories by the Nazi Party. Hitler eventually would go on to dismantle Germany's democratic state and would go on to turn Germany into a warring nation looking to conquer all of Europe. This picture was taken the first day that Hitler came into power. -
Germany invades Poland
One of the key moments to kick off this new World War was the day that Germany invaded Poland. Germany launched the unprovoked attack at dawn on September 1, 1939, with an advance force consisting of more than 2,000 tanks supported by nearly 900 bombers and over 400 fighter planes. In all, Germany deployed 60 divisions and nearly 1.5 million men in the invasion. This kicked off the beginning of WW2. -
Auschwitz Camp is Constructed
Within this artifact, it shows the construction and design layout of the horrifying camp that the Nazi's used on Jews during the Holocaust. The Holocaust is one of the key things during WWII that was one of the most monstrous and horrifying things that could ever happen to a human being. -
Japan Bombs American Navy
When Japan decided to surprise Americans one early morning by surprising us by bombing Pearl Harbor early on December 7, 1941, this set off the involvement of the U.S. which ultimately led to deaths of two thousand plus American lives. -
Auschwitz Doctor Tells of Gas Chambers in a Note
During the Holocaust of the Jewish people in the surrounding areas of German territory, Jews were rounded up and put into the main camp Auschwitz. Within this camp resigned the most monstrous thing a human/group of people could ever build, the gas chambers. Within this document shows the story of a Doctor who was employed at Auschwitz. -
Death of Hitler
The death of Hitler was the final nail in the coffin for the Nazi army and the Axis powers. Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945 in his bunker with some of his generals along with him. Eventually the American armies approached his bunker in which they ultimately found him dead along with a multitude of his personal items, papers, other generals reports etc.

President Truman announces Japan's surrender
As the Allies approached the defeat of all Axis powers, Japan was the last Nation to surrender to the Allies after the defeat of the Nazi's in May of 1945. This picture is from the White House as President Truman announced the surrender of Japan in August of 1945. -
Statement from Rudolf Hoess former commandant of Auschwitz Concentration Camp
Within this telling of Rudolf Hoess, former commandant of Auschwitz Concentration Camp he admits to "I personally arranged on orders received from Himmler in May 1941 the gassing of two million persons between June/July 1941 and the end of 1943 during which time I was commandant of Auschwitz.". This statement was one of the more profound things that I found during the research as he openly admitted to the mass murder of two million innocent people.
