U.S. and 40 other countries launch a bombing campaign and invasion of Iraq. The bombing and invasions were intended to overthrow Saddam Hussein and Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. -
Hurricane Katrina
Category 3 Hurricane with winds of 140 mph. One of the deadliest hurricanes in US history. Caused much destruction along the Gulf Coast. -
Launch of First iPhone
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, announced the first iPhone. It was way ahead any other mobile technology, customers were eager to get it. It was priced between $499 and $599. -
Affordable Care Act is Passed (Obamacare)
ACA or Obamacare was passed in order to make health insurance more affordable and accessible to Americans. Individuals could now purchase coverage and receive financial help to afford healthcare. -
Legalization of Same-Sex Marriage
States now had to preform and recognize the marriages of same-sex couples. A huge milestone for the LGBTQ+ community and their fight for equality. -
Donald Trump Elected as President
Donald Trump is elected president from the Republican party, defeating 17 other Republican contenders. Trump's campaign focused on strengthening US immigration laws, a more aggressive foreign policy, and lowering taxes. -
Start of COVID-19 Pandemic in US
First case on COVID-19 is confirmed and Emergency Operations Center is activated to respond to the outbreak. Led to lock down and social distancing to prevent spreading illness. -
Black Lives Matter Protests
A huge movement fighting against racism, police brutality, over-policing of minority neighbor hoods, and abuses. Gained large attention due to the murder of George Floyd by police officers. -
Joe Biden Elected as President
Joe Biden is elected from the Democrat Party. His campaign focused primarily on health insurance, decriminalizing cannabis, the Equality Act, and providing tuition-free community college. -
Got my Drivers License
I turned 16 and got my drivers license. This occurred in Arizona and I only got one question wrong on my Drivers License test. -
Got my First Job
Quickly after receiving my Drivers License, I got my first job. I worked at a place named Wienerschnitzel and I worked with 3 of my best friends. -
Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Russia strikes a ground invasion on a northern front of Ukraine. Ukraine enacted martial law and severed diplomatic relations with Russia. -
Moved to a New State
After growing up in Queen Creek, Arizona my whole life, I moved to St Johns, Florida. I moved because of a better job opportunity for both of my parents. -
Graduated from High School
Just a few months ago I graduated form Creekside High School. Moving states in the middle of high school was a tough, but also rewarding experience.
