This event is important, because Abe was our 16th president of the United States, and he was the reason slavery was ended. -
Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Prolamation stated that "all people held as slaves shall be free." -
13th Amendment
Prohibits slavery in the U.S. Now every slave is freed and no more slavery!! -
Succession of Abe Lincoln
Andrew Johnson was the succession for Abe Lincoln. He took control of the U.S when Abe was assasinated. -
KKK (Ku Klux Klan)
The KKK was formed to terrrize the colored people. What they did was wrong!! -
14th Amendment
This guarentees people the right of citizenship and other peoples. -
15th Amendment
Insures the right to let a black man vote. Everyone is equal and has a say in our country -
Jim Crow Laws
It stated that black people were "Seperate but equal" They weren't totally accepted into our country but we thought we were treating them equal...and we weren't. -
Election of 1876
Rutherford B. Hayes ran against Samuel J. Tilden in the election and Hayes won in a suprising way! they had mis-counted electoral votes. -
