Risk Taker
As the Taliban's influence was growing in Swat, Aamer Ahmed Khan of the BBC Urdu website wanted a schoolgirl to anonymously blog about her life there to let people know what was happening. Many girls' parents were afraid, and in the end, Malala was the one to do it. She took a great risk, and sacrificed her safety in order to raise awarness about the current problems in her homwtown. Here, her leadership skills are seen in early stages. -
Filming a Documentary: Change Master
Even though a second war with the Second Battle of Swat started once again with the Taliban on the offence, Malala accepted this change but continued to raise awareness of the background of the war by agreeing with Adam B. Ellick, from New York Times, about filming a documentary. Malala's family was even separated some time during this second battle, and she accepted these changes and conformed to them, not letting these changed stop her from her goal -
Television & Rising Fame: Sense of Humor
After the documentary, Malala did several interviews. She was interviewed on the national Pashto-language station AVT Khyber, the Urdu-language Daily Aaj, and Canada's Toronto Star. She made a second appearance on Capital Talk on 19 August 2009. Malala's BBC blogging identity was being revealed in articles by December 2009. She successfully managed to appear humuorous and serious while promoting female education, this being one of the reasons why she was invited to many interviews. -
After Her Assasination Attempt: Courage
As Malala became more recognized, she got death threats until on October 9, 2012, she was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman. Even after being shot, this didn't stop Malala from wanting to spread the importance of female education. She displayed incredible courage when after being discharged form the hospital, she just gave more conferences and kept doing what she did before, spreading her beliefs because of the fact that she got shot. -
Continuing Activism: Persistent and Realistic
Malala actively continued spreading the importance of female education. She met Queen Elizabeth II in Buckingham Palace and in September she spoke at Harvard University. She also spoke at the Girl Summit in London, advocating for rights for girls. She is persistent and realistic, speaking in various places and providing realistic goals to achieve the spread of female education. -
Speaking Before the UN: Positive and Hope-filled
Malala spoke before the United Nations and even got a standing ovation at the end of her speech for being intelligent, positive and hope-filled, continuing to spread the importance of female education after having been shot in the head for protesting in favor of it. -
Meeting with Barack Obama: Big Thinker
When she met with Barack Obama, Malala proved to be a very intelligent young lady, a truly big thinker for taking this chance to confront Obama on his use of drone strikes in Pakistan, that happen to fuel terrorism, another global conflict.
