Elvis Presley born
Musician and actor Elvis Aron Presley was born on January 8, 1935, at 4:35 am, in Tupelo, Mississippi. (He later changed the spelling of his middle name to the biblical form of Aaron.) Presley was supposed to be a twin, but his brother, Jesse Garon (sometimes spelled Jessie) was stillborn. From very humble beginnings, Elvis Presley grew up to become one of the biggest names in rock 'n' roll. -

The school
After graduating in 1953, he worked a number of jobs while pursuing his musical dream. He cut his first demo record at what later became known as Sun Studio that year, and before long, Sam Phillips, the record label owner, decided to take the young performer under his wing. -
The talent show
It is children's day at the annual Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show at the Fairgrounds in the middle of town. Ten-year-old Elvis stands on a chair at a microphone and sings 'Old Shep' in the youth talent contest. The talent show is broadcast over WELO Radio. -
His first guitar
In competing versions of the story, what Elvis Presley really wanted for his birthday was a rifle or a bicycle—both fairly typical choices for a boy his age growing up on the outskirts of Tupelo, Mississippi. Instead, Elvis's highly protective mother, Gladys—"She never let me out of her sight," Elvis would later say—took him to the Tupelo Hardware Store and bought a gift that would change the course of history: a $6.95 guitar. It was January 8, 1946, and Elvis Aaron Presley was 11 years old. -

U.S Army
In 1958, Elvis Presley surprised fans and critics when he joined the army. He left behind the celebrity life to serve their country with pride, and was much appreciated by his fans because of this.
He is assigned serial number 53 310 761. After his physical test, Elvis is put in charge of the group and they are put on a bus to fort chaffee, arkansas. At fort chaffee, elvis receives his famous GI haircut. -
Goodbye U.S.Army
Life in the military was not always easy for Elvis, but he gave his best two years of service. In March of 1960, Elvis is officially discharged from active duty by the U.S. Army at 9:15 a.m. -

Marriage
Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu after having met her when he was in the army. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada and flew in Frank Sinatra's private jet back to Palm Springs, California. According to Priscilla, their wedding night was "traditional" and romantic, as Elvis sang to her when he carried her over the thresh-hold. The happy couple had a second wedding reception for their family in friends at their home in Graceland. -
