Ellen becomes scared of her dad and his obsession with achohal. He hits her and may abuse her sexually. At this point Ellen decides that It is not safe to live in the same house as him. -

Ellen goes to court and they decide to send Ellen to her mama's mama because they are related by blood. Unfortunetly she doesn't really like Ellen. -
Ellen Meets Mavis
Ellen is forced to work in the feild with all of the colored people. She meets a woman named Mavis who helps her and tells her about her mama. -
Ellen's Dad Dies
While Ellen is staying with her mama's mama her father dies. She is more upset than she expected to be and she isn't even aloud to go to his funeral. -
Ellen's Mama's Mama Dies
After Ellen takes care of her mama's mama she soon gets to sick and she dies. Ellen knows what to do and is hardly upset by this. -
Ellen Goes to the Foster House
On Christmas day Ellen packs her box of items and walks to the foster house. When she gets there she is welcomed in and she knows she is safe. -
Ellen Getes in a Fight with Nadine and Dora
Ellen is mad because she got paper for Christmas and that they did not like her gift. She goes to her room and heres them talking about her. She makes up stories about a boyfirend and she eventually gets kicked out. -
Ellen Talks to the Therapist
Ellen goes to school and is forced to talk to this theparist she doesn't like. She also does not want to talk about her past. She gets mad and doesn't go back to the Therapist. -
Ellen Invites Starletta to Sleepover
Ellen has the whole weekend planned out for her and Starletta. She is very excited and appreciative that her new mama is letting her come over even though she is colored.
