Still Pregnant
Here I am at 36 weeks with Ella. Little do we know we are only 2 weeks away from seeing baby Ella. Looking back at this picture, I didn't look too different than how I looked now that she has been born. Simply draw a few bags under my eyes and voila! -
1st Week
I promise not to cry if you can change my diaper in 6.5 secconds..READY-SET-GO!! Ooo looks like you took too long ROOKIE.. I will now scream NuhAnh NuhAnh and kick my legs to express my discomfort. I am cold and cannot appreciate having my diaper changed.
I don't respect the rules of what you call "burping" I will go so far as to suck on your shoulder as you pat on my back. -
2 Weeks
I grunt when I am ready to be fed, which is pretty much every hour. It sounds a lot like I am hyperventilating, which is just one more thing that sends my parents into a panic. My umbilical cord falls off this week too!! 11/29/05. Mom didn't save it because a.) it fell somewhere in my sleeper and b.) well it just not a pretty looking object. -
3 Weeks
I can go from a smile to a frown in seconds and all with a half dazed look on my face. My parents can just stare at me for hours. I am soo entertaining. When I am eating now, I am no longer limited to sucking on your shoulder. I extended my slobbery kisses to your arms, neck and face. I will now contort my entire body to the "milk source" It looks like a little fish. I have known about these things called hands since I was in the womb. I can suck on my hands when they find their way to my fac -
Ella's First Bath
Ella had her first real bath on 12/11/05. Yes yes I know this was several weeks after the umbilical cord fell off. It was difficult to coordinate with daddy's schedule. She was quite uneasy at first, but didn't cry bloody murder until her hair was rinsed. -
Ella is 1 month old!
There have been quite a few milestones these past few weeks.- Hold something to her mouth
- Grips objects placed in her hands
- Focuses on toys
-
6 Weeks
Ella officially smiles at me and is distinctly different from the half conscience drunken smile she normally gives me. Of course I don't have a picture of it! -
7 Weeks
She holds her head with very limited support. Ella stays overnight at Grandma/Grandpa Summers home. They held her the entire time and spoiled her rotten. She also visited the Somerset Mall for the first time and absolutely hated it. -
8 Weeks
Ella has started blowing miniature bubbles. Very cute and is exactly what the "What to Expect the First Year" book said she would do. Creepy. It is also worth mentioning that during her visit to the Doctor's office for her Well Baby examine, it was determined, by Dr. Kroll, that she was advanced. She was able to lift her entire front half off of the examing table as well as make walking movements as her upper body was supported. -
9 Weeks
She sleeps a straight 5 hours and mommy didn't know what to do with herself. She was so overjoyed. It was in her swing, have you, but I still say it should count. -
Ella Holds her head up
We finally got her on camera smiling and she goes and decides to holder her head up during a tummy time session. Fabulous! -
Ella's 3 months old
There have been quite a few more milestones leading up to her 3 months... She yawns with a big sigh. She gets that from her Daddy! She is sucking her thumb and grabbing her hair. I believe this is very comforting for her. She can be placed in her crib and can fall asleep on her own! She can walk in a walker. She is biting the inside of her cheek. She gets this from Mommy! -
Ella eats cereal
Ella begins on grains. Here is Steve..showing her how it's done! -
Ella's First Passover
Ella enjoyed her first Easter and Passover. She was such a good girl!! She sat very quietly during the reading and didn't make a peep. She really enjoyed watching Daddy perform the Seder. This was his very first time and everyone said he did a terrific job! -
Ella is 5 Months old
She is attempting to chuckle, but it sounds more like a glorified babble. She has not only discovered her feet, but she has invited them to dinner. See how she rests them on the highchair table? Steve says that there is finally an explanation as to why she would kick her socks off. She does it to be certain that her feet are still there. -
Ella Takes a Stand
Ella pulls herself up on her own. -
Ella's First Easter 'Saturday'
We went to a close friend of the family's for Easter 'Saturday'. The weather was perfect and I looked soo adorable in my Easter dress. Everyone had a chance to pass me around. I only got fussy as mom sat down to eat.. but this is in the baby handbook (Section 293a-4: A mother is never to sit down to a hot meal again. She will never know the taste of a food at its intended temperature. Be sure to cry just as she pierces the food with her fork. Do not relent until you are tended to.) -
Trip to Canada
We took Ella to Toronto for her first real trip and a birthday treat to me. I remind you all that my last visit to Toronto is where and when I decided that I wanted to start a family. It was nice to be able to bring Ella where I made that realization. We stayed at a lovely B&B in High Park. It was sooo gorgeous. The room was lovely and the breakfast was superb.
We stayed at a lovely B&B in High Park. It was sooo gorgeous. The room was lovely and the breakfast was superb. -
First embarrasing moment
Steve took me for Teppanyaki. We thought she may be hungry so we started her on 4 oz of formula. She polished it off in minutes. She still appeared to be hungry and since I had it premeasured in 4 oz increments, I offered her another 4oz. Typically she doesn't consume so much, but she had finished the bottle before I knew it... I think you see where I am going with this. Minutes later she uh "presented" 7 of those 8 oz. It was projectile. It was horrible and got all over Steve. -
Ella turns 6 Months
She is getting much better at laughing.
Grabs at everything and anything. We nick named her Miss Grabby-grab. She wants to rollover sooo bad, but she just doesn't know it yet. She can roll to front to back..and to the side. She started crossing her fingers.. Looks like she is signing the letter R. Her favorite word is Whenh -
Ella starts on solids
This is Ella just after she grabbed the spoon from me. She clenched her jaw around the spoon and wouldn't let it go. -
Ella Sits Up
At 7 1/2 months she can sit up on her own for long periods of time. That is until something sparks her interest and she lunges for the object or uses you to kick off from...(You are the launch pad.. BE the launching pad) -
Ella Sprouts Teeth
Two lil teeth are sprouting from my mouth. Looking forward to all the biting I plan on doing. -
Ella Crawls
Just after her 8th month anniversary, she has really taken to crawling. It is more of the covert operation army crawl, but a crawl is a crawl. 8.5 months her crawls are involving her knees more, and uh-face..and well feet?? She is really trying to coordinate all the extremeties. She'll get it. -
Steve Does 3 Day
We are soo proud of Steve. He walked 60 miles for the 3 Day walk in Michigan. We were there to greet daddy at the cheering stations. We were soo glad to see him at the finish line. We missed him those three days. -
Ella Sits Up
Just days before her 9th month, she was able to sit up from a laying position. This picture was actually taken two months earlier..but she is soo cute..I had to use this one. -
Ella says DUCK??!!
I swear she said Duck.. Her saucer has the different animals, along with their sounds.. She bangs away at the buttons with such an intensity (as Bethoven may have banged on the piano)..but prefers the Duck one.. I don't know too many babies making the "K" sound...see..told you she was advanced. -
Ella's First Trip to the Zoo
I went to the zoo with Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma. I had such a blast. I fell asleep when we rode the train. -
Labor Day Bike Ride
This Labor Day weekend, we all piled into the car and went to Dodge Park for a bike ride. They have a terrific bike trail. We have wrestled with Ella to wear a bicycle helmet for a whole month. I think FINALLY she has agreed to wear it (the clip helps) and now we can use the jogger and the bike trailer.Ella was not going without a fight.. she did NOT want to be in the bike trailer..and certainly did NOT want that evil bike helmet. After much coaxing, we did end up having a terrific time. -
Ella Loves STRING
New fascination is string, cord, ties on her crib bumper.. she will untie your laces when you are or aren't looking. If she can get a tie in her clutches she immediately celebrates the small victory by popping her thumb in her month. -
Ella turns 11 months old
She has a preference for the lil yellow duck on her shelf. I offered her the other stuffed toys and she put them aside, but when her frantic fingers was offered the yellow duck, she accepted it with great enthusiasm. Yellow just may be her favorite color.
She loves food and the tastes of new food. Well.. she gives you a grimmace the first few bites, but then afterwards she is soo onboard and wants more.
Ella can find a spec on the ground. No matter how we keep the floor clean, she finds it. -
Ella's First Halloween
Ella looked sooo sweet in her bee costume. We wanted to get plenty of wear out of it (we paid full price) so I dressed her up and took her to Somerset mall. Olivia and she spent the evening window shopping and pointing for things. -
Ella's 1st Birthday!
She is shaking her head no and means it!
She hums when you sing to her and if you sing the alphabet, she will begin to gesture her hands.
She can play peek-a-boo, but instead of covering her eyes, she covers her ears and the back of her head.
She can say "Uh-Ohhhhh"
STILL Won't hold her own bottle!
Ella weighed exactly 20 lbs at the Dr.s. This means we can turn the car seat around..YAHOOOoooo!!!!
She is growing nicely and her Doctor gave her a clean bill of health. Thanks Dr. Kroll!! -
Sometimes a spoonful of sugar doesn't make it go down..
Steve made a scrumptious chicken caserole. I finely chopped a serving for Ella. I just knew she would love it. Unfortunately, it was the texture that did it. She opened her mouth and wouldn't close it until I literally scraped it off her tongue. She made plenty of gagging noises that made me all tense and perplexed. Very dramatic like..and me without my Oscar. -
Whistle while you work..
Ella returns from Grandma and Grandpas house. She looked great as always. As we sat down to dinner she formed her mouth into a small O and then exhaled softly and out came a whistle!! The baby can whistle! -
Ella Takes a Stand
Ella stood for a few seconds! When she realized she was standing on her own, she quickly fell on her butt. She can stand on couches and beds but not so much on solid ground. Try to figure that out. -
"Why should I have to hold it?"
We have been following Ella around with a sippie cup. We first introduced it to her way back when she was 6 months (Pictured here) Had we known she was never going to hold the thing again.. we would have captured more photos!! She did sip out of it and let it run down her front. And NO she won't hold it. I guess if I am going to sit and hold her bottle, I guess I can sit and hold the sippie cup. -
Ella Standing Some More
Ella amazes everyone as she stands on her own for 10 seconds! We had dinner guests and she was looking straight at Shawn. As soon as she saw me, she plopped down.. I wonder what that means??
Ella is daring herself to stand on her own. She is soo cautious and at times she just expects someone to catch her as she dives, leaps, and lunges. -
Hello??
Grandma Summers heard Ella hold the play phone receiver to her ear and say hello. She states that it was as clear as an ella bell. This was taken in April 2007.. but I didn't have a photo to go with this event... and I thought this one fit the bill. -
Before the Year is Out
Ella was trying to get quite a bit accomplished before her the end of the tax year: She stood alone for more than half a minute and took a step.
She likes to point at things she wants.
Her first sign was cookie. She does this by pointing to her palm.
She says mommy when she cries (That's alright..I'll take it!!). -
Ella's 14 Months Old
Ella has become more confident with her walking and has now begun to trot and climb. She is talking on the phone. Before she would just do a lot of heavy breathing...er.. but now she will say hello and kitty... or whatever is on her mind. She can dance on command and has a dance routine that she can do. I will try to get it on video, but she is more interested in the camera then following commands. She ends her performance with "jazz hands". -
Ella's 15 Months Old
She feeds herself and she can drink from a cup. Ella loves books. She even likes to turn the pages and read to herself.. haha too cute. She can "sing" her ABC's (not well) and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but wants to go straight to "up above the world so high.." AND NOTHING ELSE! We have this song we sing. It goes.. "Clean up Clean up Everybody Everywhere.. Clean up Clean up.. Everybody do your share.." She loves it..and she starts to put her things away!! -
Ella's 15 Months Old (PICTURE PENDING)
We got Ella a little job around the house. We opted to ignore the child labor laws, and decided to just not pay her. LOOP HOLE! Take a look at the Gallery page for details. She expresses true.. sincere.. heartfelt love. She gives endless hugs and kisses. If you are lucky, you get a pat on the back as she looks into your eyes.
(PICTURE PENDING) -
Ella the Mall Walker
This is Ella's second trip to Cleveland at the Arcade. She is really matered her walking now..look at her go! -
Cleveland Children's Museum
Grandma Summers, Ella, and I went to the Children's Museium of Cleveland. She had a blast! Here she is playing a weather girl. -
As She Grows
She can count 1..2..3..4 (4 sounds like 5)..5.. She says Please and Thank You and just recently she is working on saying You're Welcome. The songs she knows this month are Ring Around The Rosey and Itsie Bitsie Spider. She has the hand gestures down and everything! -
Baby Talk
She "attempts" to repeat everything you say and will try to mirror everything you do. She still remembers her dance routine and we have lost count with how many words and objects she can identify. Ella squats down when she sees babies and talks sweetly to them. It suggests that she needs to "come down" to their level and speak their language. Doesn't she know she IS a baby too??
This photo was taken at 22 months...but I had to show her doing it. -
Hart Plaza
The family takes a day trip to Hart Plaza Detroit, MI -
Detroit Science Center
This is Ella's first trip to the Detroit Science Center. I picked a fine time to go.. they were going to close in about an hour.. boooo hisss... -
Sand Between Your Toes
This is Ella at Canatara Park in Sarnia, Ontario. This is Ella's first trip to the beach and I must have taken 20 pictures of her sitting on the sand. She never smiled once. She didn't like the feeling of the sand on her skin. It is very telling. The baby doesn't like to get dirty. So she used her toy rake to scrap the sand off the bottom of her foot. -
Ella Loves to "Read"
Ella pretends to read. When I read "Brown Bear Brown Bear..What do you See?" I give each animal a special voice. She tried to read the book and altered her voice. I caught a bit on video, but by the time I got the camera fired up, she exhausted herself immitating my voice. She can return a book to the shelf. It may not be upright, or according to the Dewey decimal system, but it is on the shelf. -
Myrtle Beach Trip
This was Ella first plane trip. The family all went to Myrtle Beach. -
Steve's 2nd time at the 3 Day
Steve walks the Susan Komen 3 Day walk and we all came to cheer him on. -
American Girl Tea
Ella's first tea! Ella, Erin, Aunt Debbie, and I went to the American Girl Tea. It was around 2 hours long and she sat through it and clapped at the times she was supposed to. She also insisted on having her napkin on her lap. What a little lady..
She received a Itty Bitty baby from Grandma and Grandpa Delidow. She hasn't quite mastered the skill of dressing and undressing the baby.. I guess if she can't manage taking off her own socks, what chance is there for her to clothe a baby doll? -
Halloween Part II
Ella dressed like a pirate this year and we went to Grosse Pointe Villiage to receive candy from the shop owners. I don't think Ella understand the concept of receiving candy..but I do believe she liked the idea. -
Ella Turns 2
She loved her birthday! She has been singing happy birthday to her self a month before her birthday. Here is a video of the children at the daycare wishing her a happy birthday. We celebrated at Lunchtime Global and there was a muscian and plenty of people and food. -
Food For Thought
Her new food favorites are: Pickles, homemade pizza (wheat bread, sauce and cheeze), pickles, cheezits, pickles, bagles and oranges. Here is a tip for you. If Ella offers you something to eat... be it a cookie, a cracker... you better eat it. She will NOT take no for an answer and will keep insisting that you put it in your mouth (no matter if it is fuzzy or moist), chew it, swallow, and say it was icecream. -
Ella's First Hair Cut
Ella received her first haircut! Grandma Summers cut her hair and it is just the cutest. -
Ella Sayings..
"Jonathan, Thank you Jonathan for being nice to Ella." This is during the time when Ella was speaking in second person.
"Gramma went potty.. Good job. I am so proud of you"
"I want four hundred dollars" -
Your average conversation with Ella
Ella: How is your other daddy? (meaning G'pa Summers)
G'ma Summers: (thinking) Ooohhh! Honey, he's fine. He's doing very well. I'll tell him that you asked about him.
(Long pause, Ella looking expectantly)
Ella: (whispering) Now ask me about my daddy..
G'ma Summers: How is your Daddy?
Ella: He take me to da potty & then I go asdrfkua ask aksha and he give me something nice.
G'ma Summers: (pretending this is normal everyday conversation) -
Ella Sayings
"I want it! I want the water louder."
This is how she explains to me that she wants the water on high. And yes... it does become louder when it is turned on high.
"I'm very glad you are here today"
"There is my Erin. She is my best friend!"
We bought boots for Ella. I wanted to see her try them on and she said: "These are for me. You can't touch them. They are very dangerous."
Ella (fake coughing) I have a cough. I need some water.
"We go to the beach and we have to put on sun scream." -
The Big Girl
Ella can get herself ready for bed. She can brush her teeth, wash her hands, and dress for bed. Ooooo Happy Day!!!! -
We built this City... On Rock n ROLL
(Steve was playing 80's alternative music) "I don't want that. I want to hear Rock N Roll. That's not Rock n Roll! -
Gotta Dance
<a href="http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/z4OG5/hash/7qkbs3nb.swf?v=62118811737&ev=0"target="_blank"> Dancing Baby</a> It has been a tradition of ours to visit Southeast Detroit's Mexican Town during Dia de Los Muertos and visit the various Ofrendas. That's how Steve and I spent our first date together in 2002. Lately, the numbers and festivities has dwindled a bit, but that didn't damper Ella's spirits. I lost the original pictures :( -
"You have to be quiet"
Ella is stealing food from the pantry (for some reason, she calls it the bin). I caught her red handed! She has been taking chocolate, applesauce, fruit roll-up.. When I caught her today with Chocolate Gelt.. she was soo agitated and said.. You have to be quiet.. this mean..please please don't scold me. -
Fuzzy Wuzzy
Ella has this very soft plush pillow that she loves. The reason she loves it so much is because it sheds lil fuzzies that she loves to rub under her nose while sucking her thumb. The very unfortunate thing (as if that weren't enough) is that she tends to inhale the fuzzy without knowing it. I have to wrestle down to the ground before another fuzzy is gets sucked up. Needless to say.. the pillow is gone for good. -
Now hear this!
Ella says to Steve: Now you listen to me. You don't say NO to licorice. You say you're sorry. Ella when she wants something or wants to do something: I love it just fine. -
You cannot see me
Ella things that hiding is covering your eyes so that she cannot see you. She will lay down on the floor right in the middle of the room and cover her eyes with her hands. -
Ella Phrases
"I'm sorry I hurt your feelings... Hug?" Ella is asking for something simple "O please O please.." then when she gets it a small "Yippee" Ella trying to spell things "EPGOS spells princess"
Ella refers to Grandma Summers as her great-great grandmother AnnaMaria Paredes askes Ella over the phone is she was going swimming and Ella responds "Not exactly today." I don't want to go dreaming means she doesn't want to go to sleep. Ella tries to spell things out .."EPGOS...princess" -
Be Good
Mommy: You be a good baby!
Ella: You be a good mommy! -
What are the ants saying?
Ella isn't a big fan of bugs.. she will tolerate ladybugs and butterflies (what lil girl doesn't)..she doesn't care for ANYTHING else.. I told her that if we don't clean up after ourselves, ants will come to eat the crumbs we leave behind. Well.. that did it.. She is very good at bringing her dishes to the kitchen sink. Now she askes: "What are the ants saying?" and I have to come up with something clever.. "Ooo they wonder what happened to the rest of that egg sandwhich that was just here." -
100 Pieces
Ella has completed her first 100 piece puzzle on her on! She loves puzzles and usually finishes a 25 piece puzzle in one sitting. We had to explain to her that she doesn't have to complete her puzzle right away and that it isn't a race. For several days she has put the puzzle together with family members.. (man it is soo tempting to put a puppy puzzle together) Today is the first time she has done it on her own! -
My better half
Here is how the story unfolds.. Ella: Can I have another biscuite?
Grandpa: (enters the kitchen and notices there is only one left)
Ella: I want jelly on it.
Grandpa: (splits the biscuit in two and puts the blackberry jelly one one side and puts it on Ella's plate. As he starts putting jelly on the other half.
Ella: (watches him jelly the other half and stares at her plate patiently)
Grandpa: Go ahead and eat Ella.
Ella: (hesitently) No.... I am waiting for my other half. (emphasis on MY) -
No Spiderman dreams
Ella has been having this ongoing "nightmare" of spider man crawling around her room. We have told her that it was a dream and that she should tell him to go home if he doesn't behave. We rehersed it even.. Encouraged her to be stern and sound mean.. lol..she is incapible of this..may be when she is 15 she'll find her voice.. (10 bucks says she will). This morning she said there was no spider man in her dream and she dreamt of Grandpa Summers and a lil yellow house..and there were cupcakes.. -
P.S. I love you
Ella loves to send letters to people. This is the first time she has written the word Daddy without instruction. She needed a bit of help spelling Mommy. -
Singing in the Rain
Gina: Good Morning Ella.
Ella: Good Morning Mommy. It's great to stay up late. LOL.. I sang this for her a few times, but I didn't realize she was paying attention. -

Today.. Ella asked me where babies came from..
... That's it.. what?? you want me to tell you too?!? -

Ella is now the proud owner of a pet fish she originally named Boogie Woogie..or Woogie Boogie.. something like that. November 28th, 2009, the fish was renamed to Dorothy. -
Collage - Snow Whites
Ella did this collage by ripping and crumpling lil pieces of paper and glueing them on the page. I helped her cut out a few pieces. She then colored in parts of her picture. She calls it.. The Snow Whites. I love it! -
I'm not cute!!
"I am not cute!"..... "I am beautiful..." -
I can read!
Ella read her first book. I don't know if it's just from memory, but her fingers are following the words as she is reading them. -

Ella has been taking piano lessons since September 23rd. She goes to Evola music with daddy every Wednesday to learn music and singing. Today she played Mary had a little lamb and she did very well indeed. This is a picture of her warming up. -
Live Theatre Shen Yun
Shen Yun Performing ArtsElla enjoyed her first experience of live theatre at the Detroit Opera House. While driving there, she got a little weepy when we told her she wasn't allowed to announce herself on stage (oh boy). When the curtains were drawn... you should have seen her face!! It was spectacular. She sat very well and those around us told us how well behaved she was (no surprise to us). She is looking forward to Cats in the summer! -
A Can Do Attitude
Ella literally flips out if you do something she wanted to do on her own.. I mean full fledged freak out.. I thought I would mention it..since she is having one right now. -
Tour d'Eiffel
Ella said yeserday afternoon as we drove past a pylon: "Look mommy.... the Eiffel Tower!" -
Ella's new bike
Cousin Danielle handed her two wheeler to Ella. Ella was sooo excited to ride her new bike. We have put the training wheels on to help her learn to balance. Thanks Danielle! -
Jellicle cats come out tonight!!
Another wonderful theatre expereience. Broadway Cats came to the Fisher theatre and we were very fortunate to land tickets in the 12th row. Ella is usually frightened of Macavity, but this time..she was super brave. They no longer allow people to go on stage during intermission. I remember getting Deuteronomy's autograph Toronto production. Ah well.. we walked up and waved. -
Gotta Dance!
Ella has always loved dancing.. ALWAYS...as long as we can remember. Today was her first official dance class. We signed up for the summer program at the Cornelia's Schoold of dance.. and it's just down the street. She loved it!! Loved Loved Loved it!!! She came home and showed us everything she learned. I think this is going to be the one thing she'll enjoy doing for a long time. -
They're Baaaack
Well... the friends from far far away are back.
Apparantly, they are twins, named Linda and Linda (Yes... they have the same names..according to Ella, some twins do) Anyway.. they have been making fun of her and saying she can't play basket ball and called her... (excuse me for giggling).. Peanut Butter butt! LOL...um..but Alex Jun...has always been nice to her.. -
Did it hurt Mommy??
Ella just asked me:
"when we were in your tummy..did it hurt when we came out?"
I said..yes...thank you for asking. Now she has been saying that she doesn't want to have any children.. She has plenty of time to change her mind.. Say.. when she is 27?? -
Bed made with hospital corners
Ella made our bed...no joke..and did a great job.. the sheets were smooth and perfect..and the comforter smooth and covered the sheet.. I was sooo amazed. Then she got a lil cheeky and said: you need to remember to make your bed when you wake up in the morning... -
First day of school!
Ella's first day of kindergarten. I used to kid that I tried to put her on the bus the previous year.. just to see if they would let her come to stay. Now that the time is officially here; we couldn't be more happy. She absolutely loves it. When she returns home each day.. she exclaims "School was great!". WOW.. I wonder how long she will feel this way? -
When I grow up..
"I don't want to be a ballerina. I want to be a nurse so that I can make people helathy. If they take a shot.. they'll be "immude"." She saw this on Sid the Science kid. -
Uh... you have to pay for that...
Grandma Summers spotted my donation box and recognized a few items she had given me.
Ella: see the robe grandma..I thought she looked so beautiful in that robe.
Gma: Oo she did..
Ella: you should take that..and the sippie cups..
Gma: Yes.. I could wash the robe..and use the sippie cups at our house..Ooo and look a purple sweater..
::grandma attempts at leaving the room::
Ella: Uh..grandma...you have to pay for that..
Grandma gave Ella around 35 cents and bought back what she had given US. -
Snow man "Meman" will be staying home
Mrs Brancheau, Ella's kindergarten teacher, sent a letter home stating that the kids are allowed to bring in a stuffed toy to school. I thought Ella would bring in her snowman (germ riddled snowman).. She said..no...I won't bring him because then I will forget not to suck my thumb..and I can't suck my thumb at school.. I will bring my dolly.. I am guessing that Snow man is possibly her X-factor.. and is the reason she can't kick her habit.. Meanwhile.. Bear and Ella are on the outs.. -
Mommy a snake!
Ella spotted a guarter snake in a pile of leaves.. it was such a surpriase. She didn't freak out like I expected her to. As I ran to grab my camera.. the lil snake got away. Ella was determined to finish the yard work and told me she would let me know if she saw it again. -
"I will stop when I am 5"
Ella has promised to stop sucking her thumb when she is five. She even told the dentist this vow. When her birthday arrived, I reminded her of her promise. She "prentended" not to recall and I asked if she wanted me to call the dentist. She said "no" she remembers now. She has excused "me man" to the shelf and has done very well at not sucking her thumb!! -
Ella's First Birthday Party!!
Ella enjoyed her first birthday party at the California Pizza Kitchen. She invited her friends from school. I believe everyone had a wonderful time making their own personal pizza and taking a tour of the kitchen! -
Gramma Summers is a Snow Man Pusher
Ella just called me and told me that it was not a good idea to give her the Snowman as it makes her suck her thumb and I told her that I gave it to Yonna and I can't help it if she has joined with STA snowman & thunbsuckers anonymous! I am well aware that Ella doesn't want to fall off the wagon but Yonna has shown a fondnes for the toy! Just because they quit making loving parents after you all have Ella! I don't think that they quit making Snowmen once Sofie and Yonna were born! -
Um.. I am taking my time..
Trying to get Ella ready for school..
Me: Ella... is it that you just don't like eating in the morning..can you eat any faster?
Ella: Well.. I do like to eat in the morning.. I don't like to choke.
Me:...oh..okay.. -
Mom I said took..
"Mom, I took the glass down stairs.... mom... I said took." Ella wants credit when she uses the correct tense. -
Ella's new room
Ella just got a new room.. new furniture..new custom closet... She absolutely loves it. -
Pitch Dark
Ella wants it to be pitch dark in her room. We have been asked to turn off the porch light because the light was seeping into her room. She wants the door closed and the music off.. -
Raise your hand
Ella's teacher, Mrs. Macloed, told us this story..
Ella raised her hand in class...and then slowly raised the other. I asked her if there was something wrong with her arms and she said: No.. I have two questions.. one questions for this hand..and the other question for this hand.. LOL.. -
Weekly Allowance
During winter break, Ella and I discussed the family budget, economy, and what's important to keep a household running. We jotted down a few responsibilities and agreed on a weekly allowance. Her job is: To make the beds (hers, Yonna, and Sofie's) each morning, clean the bathroom sink and put away the toothbrushes, take the dishes to the sink, help Yonna and Sofie with the potty, and put them to bed on Friday's and Saturdays. She gets 12/week and she will budget this money each week.
