Eli Griffin Timetoast Timeline

  • Birth

    Adam is born.
  • Erikson's 2nd Stage: Independent vs. Dependent

Adam (age 4) is orphaned after an accident involving his biological parents. The caretakers at the orphanage are neglectful, so Adam learns to do things like walk and use the bathroom on his own. (Independent)
  • Erikson's 4th Stage: Accomplishment vs. Fear

Adam (age 8) is still in the orphanage where the neglectful caretakers still fail to reinforce morally good behavior. The crisis is shown as such Adam has to fight for his place in the social hierarchy, and defends his possessions using violence (Fear). Adam spends more time preparing himself physically than mentally, placing less importance on his studies.
  • Erikson's 6th Stage: Intimacy vs. Isolation

Adam (age 24) lives alone and works as a construction worker. His volatile attitude keeps him from being able to develop healthy relationships, and his lack of study prevents him from earning higher than minimum wage. He tells himself that he likes being alone, and that people would just hold him back. (Isolation)
  • Death

Adam (age 79) dies of sickness in the hospital. He has no family to remember him by and is buried with his parents.
