    Ptolemy lived during the 2nd century and was an ancient greek astronomer.He made a Geocentric model of the universe which put the earth at the center of the universe. Ptolemy made a theory that the universe is a series of concentric spheres.

    Nicholas Copernicus
    Nicholas Copernicus was an mathematican and astronomer who made a model of the universe and placed the sun at the center. His book was a major event in the history of science. Nicholas Copernicus argued that the earth rotated on its axis and the sun didn't move. He made the theory that the ptolemaic system was to complex.

    Galileo was the first European to make observations on the moon. Gslileo went blind in one eye by looking directly into the sun.
